Beautiful silver variegated form of the "Solomons Seal", each leaf lined with a white line around its outer edge. Easy to grow in shade under trees and shrubs.
A terrific low growing variety for foreground plantings, only just over knee high and easier to manage than some of the larger kniphofia. Colourful burnt orange flowers in summer look good with rudbeckia, grasses and sedums.
A delicate little species with distinctly different flowers from the usual dierama form. These are open bells like a campanula, deep pink in colour, and appear in mid to late summer.
One of our favourite verbeena which flower for SUCH a long time! Lavender pink flowers and mounding habit, division grown non seeding.
Japanese woodland species with climbing habit. Prefers drained peaty soil and sun protection, ideal for southern wall or trellis.
Temperate plant for dry shade with attractive silvery felted leaves, and ground covering habit. Best in well drained soil near trees, also a fine container plant.
A good multiplier with a understated greenish bronze colour, nice and subtle.
A wonderful lime green variety, which visitors always comment on when in flower. A tidy plant that flowers for a long time and doesn't get too tall for the border.
An alternative to 'Walkers Low', when a slightly taller variety is required. Lilac mauve flowers through summer, nepeta will repeat flower if trimmed occasionally.
Lovely variety with flower spikes in peach and apricot tones, like the colours of old fashioned roses. Clumping habit and long flowering.
Lemon thyme, great for savoury meat dishes and marinades, also a long flowering ornamental garden plant. Larger than most ground-covering types, it forms a 30 cm mound and flowers well in summer even in dry conditions. Ideal for mass planting amongst stones with paeonies and crocus. Pink flowers.
Perennial verbena, more leafy and bushy than Verbena bonariensis, a good summer border plant with rich colour. Cut back foliage to avoid harbouring mildew in autumn.
Brightly coloured old fashioned cushion plant for border and rock garden, often known as 'thrift'. Often associated with coastal gardens, armeria thrive in a wide range of habitat and are both drought and frost tolerant.
Long flowering agastache great for attracting butterflies into the garden. Summer flowering and one of the better agastache we have trialled, fertile loamy soil best, and will tolerate some clay if worked and mulched. We find these will only tolerate light occasional frost.
Our own cross from this wonderful alpine which we have increased from division. Beautiful indigo shading to purple, free flowering and vigourous once established. Best in well drained conditions in a pot or the rock garden.
