Sculptural succulent from the Canary Islands with attractive lobed foliage. Grows well in a pot on the deck in a sunny spot.
The low growing spreading form of this cistus, it will get to about knee high an a metre or so across. Beautiful with prostrate rosemary, Euphorbia, and Salvia nemorosa.
A spectacular iris with indigo flowers and black stems. Medium height and easy to grow in most conditions providing the soil is not too dry.
A cultivar of nemorosa with clear blue flowers in spring. Makes a delightful pot plant, or woodland planting. Do not over-water after flowering, caution to those with irrigation systems, keep soil barely damp and not wet.

A recent introduction by us is this sedum from my mothers garden, with white flowers, which is an unusual colour in the world of sedums! As with other sedums, easy to grow in full sun position in most soil types. Rarely but occasionally these can produce a pale pink sport, which should be removed with a sharp knife at the crown at the time of flowering.
Deep pink armeria, combining well with other miniatures in full sun. Helianthemums, Campanula pulla, Saxifaga caespitosa, and Thymus minimus all combine well.
Tall perennial with deep indigo blue flowers in autumn, loosely resembling a Delphinium in form. Useful because of its tolerance to clay soils and later flowering.
This is the best variety for drying and essential oil production, as it has a higher than usual oil concentrate in the leaves. Used in the production of cosmetics and fragrances.
