A dense growing multi stemmed variety prized for topiary and hedging, featured at Sissinghurst Castle. Bright blue flowers.
A more elegant plant than the type forming a compact mound of foliage covered in large pure white flowers during summer. Performs well in a rockgarden or mixed border situation in full to part sun.
The deep orange pokers appear in mid summer with gaillardias, heleniums and rudbeckias. A shorter manageable variety that forms an evergreen mound of foliage. Easy to grow on most soil types.
A vigorous tall late summer flowering variety that never disappoints in its florferous abundance, provides good fill and the blue looks great with autumn grasses, sedums and rudbeckia.
Lavender mauve trumpets with lighter throats medium to larger growth suitable for mass planting or summer border. Cut back after flowering as with lavenders and salvias.
Silvery succulent, ideal in dry and exposed conditions including coastal situations. Flowers are coral pink during winter and the bushy form of this variety associates well with Stipa gigantea, aeoniums, fascicularia, and sedums.
The lovely white form which flowers earlier than the blue, and is equally easy. I raised our original stock plant from one white seedling which we later divided. Thanks Lindy for recovering this for me when I thought it had been lost forever!
The best red monarda; mildew resistant and tough as they come. Like all monarda, these grow best on fertile clay loam or well mulched moisture retentive soil types.
A spectacular iris with indigo flowers and black stems. Medium height and easy to grow in most conditions providing the soil is not too dry.
One of the most attractive grey foliage varieties we have grown, thanks to Lambley Nursery for distributing this wonderful plant. Soft primrose flowers, much more versatile and easier to place than the stronger colour of Phlomis fruticosa.
A lovely variation on 'Bicolor' with copper two tone flowers for much of winter. Perennial wallflowers require good drainage and dont like it too wet.
A nice variation of Campanula latiloba with lilac flowers and upright flower spikes, showy but can be very spreading.
Lovely fluffy flowering texture in summer providing great fill and a soft contrast. A great grass all round and in early stages grows much like 'Karl Forester' until flowering time, when it looks very different; responds best in heavier fertile soils, and to date doesnt seed here.
One of the best Epimedium with pink flowers and decorative red tinged foliage. The new growth is particularly attractive, and the flowers are a pleasant variation from the usual yellows.
A beautiful Allium x rosenbachianum cultivar with tall stems topped with purple spherical flowers, requires good drainage in sun and to dry off in summer
Attractive long flowering ornamental grass which flowers in summer with miscanthus, sedums, agastache, and echinacea. Very easy and well behaved in clay however in light sandy soils may be overly vigorous and only suit the large garden. We have found only occasional seedlings, but as with all grasses, deadhead if seeding occurs. Useful for foreground in...
