A tall architectural plant useful in dry shade, often found in historic gardens around Tasmania. The foliage is a pleasing dark green and the purple flower spikes are an unexpected bonus when they arrive. Cut back the foliage in late summer to rejuvinate.
Slender upright green, lemon and cream coloured poker , flowers fading to a softer colour as they age. Superb cut flower & accent plant amongst grasses and perennials.

Reputedly more blue than others, we find these echinops, contrary to their appearance, are best situated in a cooler position with only part day sun. To yield their best, plant in fertile drained soil and a sheltered position.

Long flowering agastache great for attracting butterflies into the garden. Summer flowering and one of the better agastache we have trialled, fertile loamy soil best, and will tolerate some clay if worked and mulched. We find these will only tolerate light occasional frost.

I spotted this dwarf poker in the UK years ago, where I was struck by its compact form and abundant hot-orange pokers. It is winter dormant and makes a good grassy mound of leaves when not in flower.
