I love helianthemums for their abundant flowering, and superb ground covering abilities in poor growing conditions. We found this as a chance seedling and thought it was worth naming and propagating.
Perfectly white flowers, with all the good aspects of the other Salvia nemorosa varieties. Very frost tolerant, ideal bedding plant, will repeat flower in fertile soil.
An interesting variety that begins white with a blue eye, then fades to a soft pink as the flowers age. As with other asters, strong and reliably flowering late summer. Upright bushy non collapsing habit.
Temperate plant for dry shade with attractive silvery felted leaves, and ground covering habit. Best in well drained soil near trees, also a fine container plant.
Attractive variation which flowers rich musk pink then fades to a soft pink, creating a lovely two tone effect.
Prolific low mounding erigeron with long flowering habit, useful for many planting applications. Looks great as a path edging or border mass planting or fill under roses, and needs minimal care or water.
Shorter growing variety often more suited to smaller spaces and cottage gardens than taller Helenium 'Moerheim Beauty'. Only knee high and combines well with sunny border foreground plantings of dianthus, geraniums and Salvia nemorosa.
Faded lilac purple, like old velvet. Subtle colour lovely in drifts with other varieties for tapestry of colours.
Huge ornamental rhubarb from Brazil, suited to pond, bog, and streamside plantings. The leaves can be 1.5 - 2.5 m across, on stems up to 2.5 m in sheltered conditions.
A very useful groundcovering variety which forms strong colonies in even the most difficult dry areas. Pale blue flowers in spring and autumn.
A clumping compact variety to around a metre or so tall suitable for cut flowers, we like the transition from lime green to gold when flowering.
Delicate soft pink shade of Helianthemum, equally as tough as other varieties. In the seventies these were fashionable, with dozens of named cultivars being available; sadly these wonderful plants have disappeared from mail order catalogues.
Otherwise known as Greek oregano; a long flowering border perennial and a good crossover plant between ornamental and culinary usage. White flowers in summer.
Cascades of beautiful silvery plumes in autumn. Vigorous and clump forming. Allow space to show off its best qualities. Combines well with Perovskia and Stipa arundinacea.
One of the better varieties we have grown, with upright stems and soft pink flowers. A lasting vigourous plant with attractive evergreen grey felted foliage. Imported by Plant Hunters, few only.
